1. Who we are
Ethiopian Virtual Airlines (vETH) is a non-profit flight simulation community, inspired by Ethiopian Airlines. Our website is accessible at www.ethiopianvirtualairlines.com.
2. Data collected via the vAMSYS API
When you log in to your Pilot Space via vAMSYS, we access the following data with your explicit consent:
- identity:basic — Your first name, last name and email address
- identity:networks — Your VATSIM, IVAO, POSCON, APOC identifiers
- pilot:read — Your pilot profile, rank, statistics and badges
- flights:read — Your bookings, PIREPs, comments and logbook
- flights:write — Creation of bookings and filing of PIREPs on your behalf
- activities:read — Your registrations for vETH events and tours
3. Purpose of data collection
This data is used exclusively to:
- Display your profile and statistics in the vETH Pilot Space
- Allow you to book flights and file PIREPs
- Display your rank and career progression
- Personalize your experience on the site (displaying your first name in the navbar)
- Contact you in the context of managing your pilot career within vETH (activity reminders, account status updates, important community announcements). This data is never used for commercial solicitation purposes.
4. Data retention
Session data (profile, rank, statistics) is retrieved in real time from the vAMSYS API and stored only in your browser (localStorage) for the duration of your session. Logging out clears all local data.
5. Data sharing
We do not share, sell or transmit any personal data to third parties. Only vAMSYS (our VA platform) holds and manages your data in accordance with their own privacy policy.
6. Your rights
In accordance with GDPR, you have the following rights:
- Right of access to your data
- Right of rectification
- Right to erasure (delete your vAMSYS account)
- Right to withdraw consent at any time (revoke access from vAMSYS)
7. Cookies
The site uses only a session cookie to maintain your login. No advertising or tracking cookies are used.
